Happy Super Bowl Sunday! The day of wings, beer, heartburn medication and commercials. But before Commercial-Extravaganza 2017 begins, take a look back on some of the most iconic ads the sporting event has given us in the past.

1. Apple – “1984” (1984)

The ad was directed by Ridley Scott and re-wrote the rules for Super Bowl commercials. Its considered one of the most influential ads of all time.

2. Wendy’s – “Where’s the Beef?” (1984)

Wendy’s took a dig at both McDonald’s and Burger King in their 30 second ad. The slogan went on to be a success, increasing sales by 31% and finding its way into political arguments when Vice President Walter Mondale used the phrase to criticize policy proposals

V3. Budweiser – “Wazzup” (1999)

WAAAAAZZUPPPP. The campaign went on to be a recurring Super Bowl ad, running from 1999-2002.

4. Volkswagen – “The Force” (2011)
