Big congrats are in order for Pearl Jam. It comes as no surprise, but this morning it was officially announced that they will be inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next spring.

Many believed Pearl Jam would be a slam dunk, first ballot band….and they were right. Since they became active 26 years ago they have been one of the most respected bands on the planet. With over 60-million albums sold world wide, and a catalog of classic hits, its easy to see why they get the nod.

Others set to join them this year include: Tupac Shakur, Journey, Yes, Electric Light Orchestra and Joan Baez, while Nile Rodgers will be given the Award For Musical Excellence. They will be inducted in a ceremony in New York in April.
