Candian rockers MONOWHALES are calling it quits. On Tuesday, the band shared their farewell statement.

The Toronto trio of singer Sally Schaar, guitarist Zack Zanardo, and drummer Jordan Circosta announced the news in a joint statement, explaining that they “no longer feel we can do justice to the vision of MONOWHALES we set out with”.

They continued, saying they have “each evolved, both creatively and personally.” While they didn’t offer any details on what that means, they did hint that they “each have exciting endeavors ahead, and we can’t wait to share them with you.”

The band had a few summer shows scheduled, including a gig opening for Tokyo Police Club on their final tour. All shows have been cancelled.

MONOWHALES formed in 2017, previously under the name Ginger Ale and the Monowhales. They released their EP Who’s There To Hear Me Out? earlier this year.
