Jack White visited The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote his new record, Fear of the Dawn.

He chatted about what it was like to take time off during the pandemic, saying it was a very creative time that led to the creation of Fear of Dawn and then his upcoming record, Entering Heaven Alive.

During the lockdown, White went back to his upholstering roots and created furniture, including a series called My Sonic Temple, which allows musicians to hook their instruments up to the furniture and play.

White also told Colbert about his recent wedding to Olivia Jean, explaining that after purposing on stage, White asked his friend who is a minister who was waiting backstage to marry the couple.

White also announced that he will be releasing a never-before-heard record from Prince. “He’s a pretty good musician,” joked White. “It’s called Camille, and it was a record he [Prince] made under a feminine sorta avatar. He has sped his voice up on a tape machine using a vary-speed tape, and he sped his voice up to kinda sound feminine. He was gonna release a whole album under the guise of “Camille”. He got it on the presses, it was all the way done, it had labels, it was going to be sleeved until the last second he changed his mind and pulled it off presses until Warner Bros. canceled the whole project.”

After his interview, White took the stage to perform his new single, “What’s The Trick?”
