Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away at the age of 50 on Friday night. He is remembered as one of the most talented and charismatic musicians of his time. Celebrate his life below.

Before joining Foo Fighters in 1997, Hawkins performed as a touring drummer for both Sass Jordan and Alanis Morissette, as well a the progressive rock band Sylvia.

In 2004, Hawkins formed his own side project called Taylor Hawkins and the Coattails Riders. In 2021, he formed the supergroup, NHC, with Jane’s Addiction members Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney. The band’s lone album is set for release in 2022.

Hawkins not only drummed in Foo Fighters, he also sang many songs including “Cold Day In The Sun” from In Your Honor. He would also perform covers of Queen’s “Somebody To Love” during concerts.

Hawkins final performance with Foo Fighters was at the Lollapalooza Argentina music festival on March 20, 2022. The band were set to perform at the Estéreo Picnic in Columbia just hours before his death. The crew lit candles on stage to pay tribute to his life.
