Foo Fighters lied to you. On Wednesday, the band appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and admitted to making up the story of recording their album in a haunted mansion.

Previously, the band had stated that while recording their most recent album, Medicine At Midnight, they had noticed spooky occurrences that led them to believe the home was haunted. Turns out that wasn’t the case and the group had made up the story to lead into the release of their upcoming horror film, Studio 666. Unfortunately, the movie was postponed due to COVID and the band had to come clean.

When describing the film, frontman Dave Grohl explained, “Well, it was my idea in that we would make a movie about a band moving onto a creepy old house, makes a record, house is haunted, I become possessed, I murder the whole band, and go solo.”

Studio 666 will be released on Friday, February 25, but no Canadian release has been announced.
