After months of a back-and-fourth drum battle, Nandi Bushell finally got to meet the one and only Dave Grohl. The two have been setting musical challenges through social media, but this video call organized by the New York Times, was the very first time they’d spoken to each other directly.

They talked about their musical experience, when they first started playing the drums, how his kids are big fans of Bushell, and then Grohl asked the 10-year-old girl about collaborating on a new track.

“We should make a song together. Do you want to do that?”

Nandi accepted and was also invited to be on stage and jam with Foo Fighters the next time they play in the UK.

“But it has to be at the end of the set, because you’re gonna steal the show, it can’t be at the beginning of the set. Because if you come out first, it’s just all downhill from there.”

You can watch the video call below.

Dave Grohl has also been busy with new music from Foo Fighters. They recently debuted a brand new track called “Shame Shame”, with the announcement of their tenth studio album. You can listen/read more about that here.
