It was previously announced that the physical event of Lollapalooza 2020 is cancelled. Across their social media accounts they posted a message stating:

“We wish we could bring Lollapalooza to Grant Park again this year, but we understand why things can’t move forward as planned. The health and safety of our fans, artists, partners, staff, and community is always our highest priority.”

They followed this statement by announcing that because the festival is cancelled, they’ll be going digital this year, with a FREE weekend-long livestream. The online festival, Lolla2020, will happen from July 30th to August 2nd. More details have been released, including the lengthy lineup of 150 performances. This will also include an archival lineup with some ‘fan-favourite’ sets from The Cure, Paul McCartney, Arcade Fire, Lorde, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Tenacious D, Jane’s Addiction, Tove Lo, Portugal. the Man and more. The virtual festival will also be supporting numerous causes such as the Arts for Illinois Relief Fund, the Equal Justice Initiative and When We All Vote.
