Arcade Fire’s lead vocalist Win Butler has begun teasing a new Arcade Fire song on social media.

The 9 second clip was recorded by reddit user cdawg_66. Butler wrote the caption “Sometimes it takes 20 years to write a song”.

Saw someone ask if you could listen to Wins story without an instagram account so whoever asked here ya go from r/arcadefire

If it is new Arcade Fire, it’ll be the first new song since the band released Everything Now in 2017.

Arcade Fire recently performed for the first time in nearly two years at their Kanaval Ball in New Orleans.

Founded in 2018 by Arcade Fire’s Win Butler and Régine Chassagne and Preservation Hall’s Ben Jaffe, the Kanaval Ball celebrates the shared cultural traditions of Haiti and New Orleans. Proceeds from the event benefit the Preservation Hall Foundation’s educational work in New Orleans and Arcade Fire’s KANPE Foundation and its support of cultural and social initiatives in Haiti.

Arcade Fire’s 11-song set kicked off with a collaborative performance of “Everything Now” with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. They continued playing like “Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)”, “Rebellion (Lies)”, “Haiti” and “Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)”.
