One Edmontonian has started a great campaign in the city to spread cheer during these challenging times – it’s called “YEG Window Art”!  Karen Parker is encouraging Edmontonians  to decorate their windows with any art or drawings & add them to a virtual map.  Then, you can enjoy a walk in your community (at a safe social distance, of course!) and plan your walk to see what art your neighbors put up!!!

Karen got the idea after seeing others post art and pictures in their windows online -and being a bit of a self proclaimed “tech geek” – Karen created THIS website to show people where they could find art in their own community.  Edmontonians can also add their own addresses to the map to let others know when art is posted in their homes!

Karen has even created fun optional “art themes” people can take part in too! Upcoming ones include:

  • March 26: Encouraging Words
  • March 29: Flowers
  • April 1: Jokes!
  • April 4: Easter Eggs

You can tag photos from your walks on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook with the hashtag #YEGWindowArt, and visit the website to see where art is near you, HERE. Kudos to Karen for a great idea!
