Record Store Day 2020 postponed

Record Store Day 2020 has been postponed. The annual event was set to take place on April 18, but will now fall on June 20.

RSD is worldwide and celebrates a record store's place in their community. As good citizens of those communities we want everyone to be safe, healthy and feel comfortable coming to the party.

The decision was made amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Unique and exclusive releases will be available on the day from SONiC artists including:

• My Chemical Romance – Life on the Murder Scene
• The Black Keys – Let’s Rock 
• Tegan and Sara – Tonight In The Dark We’re Seeing Colours
• Gorillaz – G-Sides, D-Sides
• The Strokes – The New Abnormal (cassette)
• Billie Eilish – Live At Third Man Records

Bastille, U2, Johnny Cash and more have exclusive releases on the way. Check out the full list here.

On June 20, numerous Edmonton record shops will take part in the day’s activities including:

• Blackbyrd Myoozik
• Freecloud Records
• Listen Records 
• Record Collector’s Paradise 
• Revolver (multiple locations)
• Sunrise Records (multiple locations)

Brandy Carlile will act as this year’s Record Store Day Ambassador.
