On Monday, the band shared the artwork for the upcoming album Fear Inoculum. According to guitarist Adam Jones, the album is 85 minutes long and contains seven songs and two transitions.

The band seems to be caught up on the number seven. Jones said in an interview that he “took a picture pointing to the number seven while we were recording, and a lot of the riffs Justin [Chancellor] and I brought in were in seven.

“You don’t really go, ‘I’m going to write a riff in seven!’…Without being too descriptive about the concept, the main thing is that the seven beat just kept coming up, and riffs in seven kept coming up. It was really weird!”

Frontman Maynard James Keenan brought forward a concept for the album that also relates to the number. Album artist Alex Grey created a concept based on seven as well, which Jones says will be shown “through video.”

The band also said that the album’s title track will be released on Wednesday, August 7. It will mark the first new music the band has released in over thirteen years.

The news comes just days after Tool’s discography became available to stream.

Fear Inoculum is out August 30.
