This years’ short list of nominees included Alvvays, Weaves, Jean-Micheal BlaisDaniel CaesarJeremy DutcherPierre KwendersHubert LenoirPartnerSnotty Nose Rez Kids and U.S. Girls. And the winner is…. Jeremy Dutcher! He hails from New Brunswick and is a Wolastoqiyik member of the Tobique First Nation.


The Polaris Music Prize is handed out each year to a Canadian artist with the best full-length Canadian album based on artistic merit, regardless of genre, sales, or record label. Past winners include Arcade Fire, Feist, Tanya Tagaq and more. The winner receives a $50, 000 prize to further their creative projects. Congrats to all for their hard work and recognition!
