HBO has release the long-awaited trailer for season three of True Detective. 

The story will take place over three separate time periods. Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali will play Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas working on a missing child case.

Season 3 debuts on HBO January 2019.
