Jack White was on hand to celebrate the reopening of Detroit’s Michigan Central Station alongside fellow Detroit natives Eminem, Diana Ross, Big Sean, Illa J, Kierra Sheard, Theo Parrish, Slum Village, The Clark Sisters, Sky Jetta, and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

Explaining that some of the songs he was performing were “written a few blocks from here”, White’s performance featured “Hotel Yorba” within eyesight of the actual Hotel Yorba building. He also covered Jimi Hendrix’s “Hear My Train a Comin” before closing the set with an explosive performance of “Seven Nation Army”.

The concert celebrated the reopening of Michigan Central Station, a historic train depot that had been closed since 1988 and left vacant until Ford Motor Company acquired it in 2018. After six years of restoration, it reopened on Thursday as a mixed-use facility.
