Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley has updated fans on his health following a pneumonia hospitalization.

On Monday, the rocker shared a two-minute video on Instagram telling fans “I feel fantastic. I feel great. I want to thank you guys all for all the love and support and the messages and the comments, but I feel amazing. I feel back to normal.”

He gave a recap of his hospitalization, saying, “I was feeling a little sick on the last few days of the Offspring and Simple Plan tour. And then we went straight from that tour to shoot the land mines video. And on the first day, I felt pretty sick. And on the second day of that shoot, I felt even worse and then I went home and I just kept getting worse and worse.”

He continued, “Of course, I tested for COVID and sure enough I had COVID and it hit me really hard. I got worse and worse. And then by the sixth day, I guess, God gave me pneumonia and I ended up in the hospital for a few days and that was a little scary. But I got out and with the help of my mom who’s here, who is a nurse as well. And my wife Ariana, I was in good hands and eventually I got better.”

He also shared gratitude for the response to Sum 41’s new single, “Landmines”. “I also want to thank you all for the support for our song, ‘Landmines’ that came out. That’s the first song off the Heaven Side of our double record, Heaven :x: Hell. And I know you’re going to ask, when is the next song coming? When’s the hell side coming? And I don’t know yet. We don’t know, but you’ll be the first to know once we know.”

Back in May, Sum 41 announced their plan to disband following the release of their final album and one last tour. Heaven :x: Hell has yet to receive a release date.
