Eddie Vedder was on hand at the annual Kennedy Centre Honors Gala, where he performed a cover of U2’s 2001 song “Elevation”.

The event takes place yearly in the U.S., honoring the achievements in the arts and culture. U2 were the honourees of the night, with Mary J. Blidge booked to perform in their honor. Unfortunately, Blidge was unable to perform due to illness, so the Pearl Jam frontman stepped in to honor the band instead.
