Three years after parting ways, Hollerado have finally earned their first gold record for their 2010 single, “Juliette”.

The band shared the news on Instagram while also advocating for their former band accountant Tony Yacowar’s current election campaign for city council in Victoria, BC.

The message began, “Victoria friends! This is important: On October 15 you have a municipal election. Please go vote and please consider giving your vote to @yacowartakeover. Tony is not only an amazing person, he also took care of our band AND personal finances for 15 years. If Tony can handle the absolute shit show that is trying to keep a band that spends every dime on confetti, nacho parties, and general recklessness in the black, then he can handle anything. Honestly, Tony rules and he is smart and has great ideas. VOTE TONY YACOWAR.”

The continued, “And for anyone else not from Victoria who made it this far, we just got our first Gold record! It only took 12 years, but Juliette is officially gold-certified. Going to pick up the cheesy framed gold records for our moms right now.”

Gold certification in Canada requires 40,000 units sold with 150 streams counting as a single unit.

“Juliette” appeared on Hollerado’s debut album Record In A Bag.
