In 2019, Tegan and Sara released their memoir ‘High School’. The coming-of-age comedy follows the Quin sisters from Calgary, through their raving phase in the 90s and through their successful music career and becoming 2SLGBTQ+ icons.

In October, 2020, it was announced that their memoir would become a TV series adapted by Clea Duvall (know from The Faculty, She’s All That; But I’m a Cheerleader; Girl, Interrupted and more). Tegan and Sara both serve as Executive Producers for the series.

The first trailer for the series coming to Amazon in Canada October 28th, looks at the distance between the twins growing up who had to share everything. It feels like one sister is ready to forge her own path while the other is still hanging on. We see one of the Quin sisters in the opening shot sporting a black eye in the bathroom at school. When asked by another girl what happened, she replies “my sister punched me in the face”. In another clip, the Quin sisters are asked if they’re twins, one says, “No,” as the other one says, “Yeah…” and we get a taste of a song about Tegan not coming to school.

High School stars Railey and Seazynn Gilliland as Tegan and Sara and also features Colbie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother).

We only get 1:15 in the trailer, but it tells a real vulnerable story about the duo that we can’t wait to learn more about when the series drops in October.
