SONiC Artists at The Junos

Sunday, May 15th, The Juno Awards took place and it’s safe to say SONiC artists cleaned house. Here are some of the notable winners and performances:

The Beaches

Their album Sisters Not Twins (The Professional Lovers Album) won Rock Album of the Year.

They also announced they’re going on tour with Avril Lavigne who performed at the Junos last night.

Monowhales

The Toronto band took home Breakthrough Group of the Year.

Arkells

Not only were they one of the performers of the night, but they also won Group of the Year. They posted with gratitude online saying “This job is a blessing. It’s not always easy but we operate from a place of optimism that allows us to keep dreaming of the next thing to create. Thx to our entire band family who make us look & sound great every step. Now back to work!”

Half Moon Run

They won Adult Alternative Album of the Year for their album Inwards & Onwards.

Arcade Fire

The group did a set to close out the night, perfoming their newest track “Unconditional I (Lookout Kid)”.
