Each Tuesday and Sunday, Taylor rounds up this week’s best new music with the New Music Discovery Show. Here’s one of our favourites.

COIN – “Chapstick”

COIN are a three-piece band from Nashville who have been climbing the alternative charts since they formed in 2012.

After meeting in musical theory class at Belmont University, the friends began writing and recording their own music. In order to get booked for gigs, the group recorded four songs and shared them for free online.

After releasing two albums, COIN is back with their latest single, “Chapstick”. Frontman Chase Lawerence described the song in a Tweet saying that, “Chapstick is a combination of sounds that I’ve never heard before… like you fed hours of 60s, 70s rock into a computer & politely asked them to pick up in 2023.”
