Hey, it’s Chantal. Sometimes it’s hard to keep track or be in the know about all the cool things going on in the city or online! Social media can get flooded, life can get chaotic, you know how it is. That’s what this is here for! Alternative Weekends is a nifty little series with the top 3 things happening in Edmonton or on SONiC, over the weekend. Who’s releasing a new album? Is there a SONiC artist live streaming? What can you do in Edmonton this weekend? Those questions will be answered here.

Here are 3 things to check out this weekend, while you listen to Half Moon Run’s new album Inwards & Onwards:

1.You can now stop by Al Fresco any Saturday this summer

Al Fresco on 104 Street is here for the summer! You can bring a friend, family member, or even your dog to see 40 local vendors, food trucks, and extended patios. Some of the vendors include El Gringo FoodsBoocha,  Dazzling Designs, Earth Warrior, Sea Change Brewing, and a ton more!

The outdoor market runs 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. every Saturday until September.

2. Rock out to a Pearl Jam concert online

For the Father’s Day weekend, Pearl Jam will stream its August 2018 show from Washington-Grizzly Stadium, with never-seen-before footage. The set has 29 songs including rare songs and covers.  Ticket sales will benefit several homeless organizations.

The show will be available from June 18th to 21st only, however, after your first viewing a playback option will be available for 48 hours on-demand.

3. Enjoy the Edmonton Indigenous Peoples Festival

The Edmonton Indigenous Peoples Festival is this Saturday, June 19th, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m online.
