Foo Fighters have kicked off 2021 with a brand new single. On New Years Eve they released a new track off of their upcoming album Medicine at Midnight, called “No Son of Mine”. They said goodbye to 2020 and hello to new music with this note to their fans:

Dave Grohl recently said that the other songs on Medicine at Midnight don’t sound at all like “Shame Shame”, the first single released from the album. That’s definitely reflected in “No Son of Mine” which has a harder rock sound than the funky feeling of “Shame Shame”.

“This is the kind of song that just resides in all of us and if it makes sense at the time, we let it out,” Dave Grohl said in a statement as per Rolling Stone. “Lyrically it’s meant to poke at the hypocrisy of self righteous leaders, people that are guilty of committing the crimes they’re supposedly against…”

Their tenth studio album Medicine at Midnight will be released on February 5th. You can pre-order it here.
