JJ Wilde is back! On Friday, the Canadian rocker released “Mercy”.

In a series of Tweets, the singer explained the song’s inspiration.

This song took me two years to write and get out of my head. Like many of my songs, it stems from personal experience, although for a long time I wished it didn’t.
