Hey, it’s Chantal. Sometimes it’s hard to keep track or be in the know about all the cool things going on in the city or online! Social media can get flooded, life can get chaotic, you know how it is. That’s what this is here for! Alternative Weekends is a nifty little series with the top 3 things happening in Edmonton or on SONiC, over the weekend. Who’s releasing a new album? Is there a SONiC artist live streaming? What can you do in Edmonton this weekend? Those questions will be answered here.

Here are 3 things to check out this weekend:

1. Jubilations is kicking off “Night at the Museum of Rock Stars”

This weekend Jubilations is presenting their dinner theater, “Night at the Museum of Rock Stars”. Opening day is Friday November 6th, and the play runs through until January.

Here’s the synopsis:

“Did you ever wonder what happens at a museum when the crowds have gone and the lights go out? At this museum, where all the legends of rock and roll are on display, something strange is happening when the sun goes down. All of the icons that defined popular music for the past fifty years are coming to life, ready to rock and roll one more time!”

For more information, you can go to their website.

2. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2020 Induction proceedings will be on HBO

The special will feature guests including Dave Grohl, Billy Idol, Chris Martin, Gwen Stefani, Charlize Theron, and many others.

According to the Rock Hall website “Dave Grohl kicks off the show with a heartfelt introduction to this year’s class of inductees, and the special guests will speak further on how the 2020 Inductees impacted their personal and professional careers.”
