On October 23, The Smashing Pumpkins seminal album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness turns 25 years old. As part of the celebration, the band has announced a follow-up to the iconic album.

On Thursday, Billy Corgan announced that a new concept album will act as a sequel to Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. The album’s release will coincide with world tour. The band had been set to announce tour plans on Thursday, but those plans have since been pushed back due to the pandemic.

To celebrate the 25 years of their album, Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin will participate in a Zoom chat on Friday, October 23 to discuss Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness with fans. Register for the livestream here.

The new album CYR will be out on November 27.
