American Horror Story‘s ninth season will pay homage to classic slasher films. Show creator Ryan Murphy confirmed the theme and title of the upcoming season in an Instagram post Wednesday.

In the trailer, Billie Eilish sings her 2016 song “Six Feet Under”. It’s unclear whether the season’s title of 1984 is just the year the show takes place or if it has a deeper meaning. It could suggest similar themes to George Orwell’s novel 1984, which could really amp up the spook.
