Ths U.S. is currently dealing with the longest government shutdown in the history of the country. Federal workers are going weeks without pay and the end doesn’t seem to be in sight.

Last Thursday, Anthony, an Edmonton-based air traffic controller along with the help of his co-workers, sent pizza to their colleagues in Anchorage, Alaska. Little did they know that they were starting a trend! Anthony explains below how order pizza from another country and what to do when they won’t accept your foreign credit card…

Since Thursday’s pizza delivery, Canadians working along U.S. borders have been sending pizza to ease the government shutdown woes. Over the weekend, officers in Gander, N.L., and Moncton, N.B., ordered pizzas for workers in Long Island. Other cities like Vancouver and Toronto have sent pizza to Seattle, Utah, New York, and Minneapolis.
