While the Foo Fighter’s frontman originally played the track alone, he was joined by Them Crooked Vultures bandmate Alain Johannes, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Chris Chaney, Foo Fighters collaborator Drew Hester, producer Greg Kurstin, and session musicians Jason Falkner and Barrett Jones for the debut live performance.

Later in the evening Grohl performed “Play” again, along with covers of Nirvana, Tom Petty, the Beatles and more. Rock out below.
