Dave Grohl as you’ve never heard him before…

A track recorded by the Foo Fighter’s frontman in 1985 has surfaced online. Years before joining Nirvana, Grohl drummed in the punk band Mission Impossible. The track – “Now I’m Alone” – was first featured in the 2014 documentary, Salad Days: A Decade of Punk, as it explored the DIY punk scene of Washington, D.C. throughout the 80’s and 90’s.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, writer and director Scott Crawford described Mission Impossible as “a phenomenal, albeit short-lived, live band”. He went on, “I went to several of their practices in Virginia and just sat back and watch them go nuts. They were all superb musicians and watching Dave behind the drum kit was always a thrill.”
