Check out all the new music of the week with Your First Listen! Hosted by SONiC Music Director Brandy Taylor, get the scoop from your favourite artists on their latest work and discover new songs from upcoming artists. Your First Listen airs Sundays at 10pm and Tuesdays at 10pm.


1. Foster The People – “Worst Nites”

Less than a year after releasing their album Sacred Hearts Club, Foster the People have returned with a groovy new single. The lyrics contrast the pros and cons of living in Los Angeles, the band’s hometown. The artwork was designed by the band’s frequent collaborator, Young & Sick, who also designed the cover art for Torches and Supermodel. It has yet to be confirmed if the song is off an upcoming album.


2. USS – “Big Life (26 Letters)

USS’ new song is about shaping your own destiny with the 26 letters in the alphabet available to you. Each day that you wake up, you have the opportunity to make that day whatever you want. Later this month, USS return to the Ranch Roadhouse for an 18+ show, but you can sing karaoke with the boys before their show! Enter here.


3. Bob Moses – “Back Down”

Hailing from Vancouver, Bob Moses have returned with a tasty new jam about standing up for yourself. The duo’s new album Battledetails the struggles they’ve faced both personally and professionally.
