Green Day’s 2004 banger “American Idiot” is back on the charts – 14 years after it was released.

Originally the song was written in protest of George W. Bush and it’s now been adopted in protest of Trump’s UK visit later this month.

The song’s renewed success is due to a Twitter campaign urging fans to download the song between July 6 and July 12 to ensure that the song will be on the charts when Trump arrives in the UK. In January, Trump told Prime Minister Theresa May that he would refuse to visit unless she banned protests, which she said was impossible (duh). Another protest in the works for Trump’s visit is “Project Trump Baby” – a six-metre high inflatable baby Trump, wearing a diaper with small hands that will fly over London when the real version arrives.
