Meet 18-year-old Kristopher Jebeaux, winner of the SONiC 102.9 2018 Ted Rogers Scholarship Fund Contest! He is receiving $1000 towards his education!

He was nominated by not one, but TWO people. The first nomination came from Ramona Jebeaux, who wrote:

Kris is a great guy! He is extremely thoughtful and helpful to others. He enjoys volunteering his time to help with the youth rotary club here in Edmonton. He also juggles 2 jobs. Kris would love to get his degree in education. To give back to the community that helped shape him to be an amazing young man that he is. When he isn’t busy, he loves to spend time either at the gym, spending time with his pets or gaming out with friends. He also has a great taste in music. I am proud of my son.

The second nomination came from Michele Charest, who wrote:

I was Kris’ youth leader at a mentorship agency when he was 16. We had the opportunity to send one youth to a funded rotary youth leadership retreat. We immediately thought of Kris for this opportunity because of how engaged he had been in the family and youth programs he attended, his family also faced barriers living in low-income housing. Kris was invited to the retreat the following year as a youth leader and has volunteered with the Edmonton Rotary Club since. He is registered at NAIT for engineering and would benefit so greatly from the Ted Rogers Scholarship. There are countless other ways Kris gives to his community, is eager to learn and share his Aboriginal heritage, and to help his mom with his younger brother and sister. He is a kind and old soul not afraid to be his true self and be a leader in his community. Kris brings a smile to many faces and it would bring a smile to my face if he was awarded the Ted Rogers Scholarship.

Congrats, Kris! And thank you to everyone who nominated a younger learner!
