Gord Downie was honoured at the Assembly of First Nations in Quebec today for his work on The Secret Path. The 10 song album and graphic novel is raising awarness of Canada’s history of residential schools.

Downie was given an eagle feather as a gift from the creator above and given a spirit name, which can be roughly translated as “Man who walks among the stars.” by National Cheif Perry Bellegarde.
