• Their name comes from beat-poet Jack Kerouac‘s classic novel “On the Road“. (Other sources dispute but this appears correct)

• The 1975, formerly called ‘Drive Like I Do‘ and ‘the Slowdown‘, have been a band for +12 years.

• Front-man Matt Healy is coming off years of battling depression and drug issues. His inability to be a proper and accountable ‘role model’ bugs him.

• Their hit song Chocolate is about marijuana consumption.

• They turned down a high profile tour opening for Taylor Swift in order to do their own tour.
