Swimmer Penny Oleksiak has captured not only another Olympic Medal but our nation’s hearts.  She won Canada’s FIRST Olympic Gold in Rio tonight in Women’s 100m Freestyle and became the youngest Olympic Gold Medalist in history.

 

According to the National Post,

 

“With Thursday’s medal, Oleksiak has now won more in a single Olympics than any Canadian swimmer. As well, she has single-handedly inspired the young team Swimming Canada sent here and helped revived a program that has barely floated through the past few Olympics.”

 

In this Olympics, Penny has captured 4 medals to her name.  Crazy.
