Check out Edmonton’s newest piece of art!

The city has commissioned Berlin artist Thorsten Goldberg to create the new installation, named 53º20 — 40’N. It’s made up of five uninhabited, mountainous locations along Edmonton’s exact latitude around the planet, digitally mapped and converted into the metal sculptures. The piece will call Fort Road’s long-standing empty field home, alongside the infamous smokestack. Along with it, a new multipurpose Edmonton Transit Service building.

The piece will cost $1 million dollars and is expected by fall 2017.
